The pre-independence sales edition of the Selewa Market Fest, dubbed the “Cashless Market” was successfully held at Golden Tulip Accra, on the 3rd and 4th March respectively. As scheduled, the Selewa (African styled) market opened from 10am to 10pm each day with a variety of products and services ranging from fashion, beauty, art and food at a huge discount price.
Well over 60 vendors were part of it and actually participated, this include amazing brands such as Oye Gh, Balkyz Enterprise, Bellexa Boxe, Abui Createur, A-G Couture, Ojeanne, Merley’s, Maybelline New York Ghana, Re-Rockers, TSG Transport, AB Couture, Kelly Beads, Pauligath and a whole lot more. In handmade local products such as clothing, bags, beads, footwear, natural skin, hair products, African themed paintings, and sculpture.
To be honest, the market was a bit slow when it all began but started picking up and progressed steadily. The next day followed on trend style of shopping where everybody felt excited buying and got what they wanted. Special features like the cashless challenge and the Kizomba fiesta were added to keep it going strong, win some cash prizes and thrill audience with some sweet dancing moves.
It was fun shopping in a Pop Up retail style whilst being entertained with great sounds of music. The glamorous event was proudly organised by Melon Concepts and Golden Tulip Accra.
