The 6th edition of Glitz Africa Fashion Week was pretty exciting with lots of amazing designers showcasing modern and trendy style collections on the runway. The event began on the 18th of October, with a fashion night out, inspierd by an opening Cocktail party at Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel Accra, Ghana.
The 3 day glamorous event got off to a brighter start, a dream start as a matter of fact, and continued to sour on eagle’s wings till 21st October, 2018 where it was brought to a successful end.
Day 1 of the fashion show was looking all cute, it was like chill out, and relax for better shows ahead of your time. Up and coming designers such as Miss Prempeh, Mr Pros, Miss Eva, Sena Bright, Kels and Larry Jay had the opportunity to showcase as emerging designers and were pretty much excited about it.
Roksana opened the main show with such precision and decorum, rocking the runway in style and making a difference. The design aesthetics were very much on point, all the designers who came through had that great experience of showing class with their collections.
Papa Oppong, Torweila, Looks like a Goodman, Yutee Rone and Weizdorm did real good on the catwalk. Yatel GH, was top in town because of the stuff he showcased, he ended up closing the show for that particular day.
Day 2 was very much anticipated because of the business of fashion serminar which happened earlier before the runway show began. It was actually in two phases, presentation style and a panel discussion with Q&A sessions, it was passionately hosted by Vanessa Gyan.
Ms Josephine Eva Arthur of Access Bank Ghana delivered on financial management for business sustainability, she mentioned for a fact that, without that we all “into fashion because we want to make money out of it”. On a more serions note, Ms Roberta Annan of the African Fashion Fund was very impressive with her smooth flow of information and beautiful presentation on Investing in Fashion.
The runway show on Day 2 did really shine with shimmering light or glittering beauty, everything was on point and started with a fashion presentation from Velmas Accessories, it featured fabulous designers like Ophelia Crossland, Selina Beb, Clemas, House of Paon, and Ejiro Amos amongst others.
Day 3 was very fashionable, and came with the surprises that everyone had been expecting, it was a bit nerve wracking, as the organisers did take a little time to settle for the show to begin, but it was worth it.
Designers such as Telvinnwafor, Awovi, Vanskere, Roise Reine, Elekem Kumordzie the tailor and Yomi Casual made it perfect for a better showcase on the runway. Nonnistics was very elegant in her style and was greatly appreciated by the audience. Studio 189 closed the show to end the Glitz Africa fashion Week 2018.
