The Chilly/Rainy edition of Accra Fashion 2019 began in a trendy fashionable style at the Silver Star Towers Airport, Accra Ghana from 28th – 31st March. With a huge wave of reflections on the theme “Industry Revolution”. The “state of African fashion (Seminar) conference came off as scheduled and freshly started a city wide range of events which were specifically directed towards celebrating the entire fashion week.
The Speakers who were regarded as industry experts included Mont Oz (Ghana/South Africa) Andrea King (Barbados) Ovo Ogufere (Nigeria) and Adjepomaa. As a matter of fact, the audience joined in a fun day of fashion and group discussions on ways to improve the industry.
The awe inspired event continued on Friday, 29th March with the Fashion GHANA Honors and Awards, it’s objective was to acknowledge great talents in Ghana’s fashion industry. This was an award presentation to honor those who deserved it. To me, it was fairer than fair as Adina Thembi a Ghanaian musician and Too sweet Annan also an Actor won best dressed celebrities respectively.
Nana Akua Addo (GH celebrity) had a citation read in her honor as a fabulous style woman and a slay Queen on the red carpet. On her part, Nana Akua expressed her appreciation, and felt surprised at the amazing things which were said about her in the citation.
Woodin student and graduate competition follows through on the 30th of April with sparkling and shinning brightness. The students showed class and proved beyond doubts that they are ready to face the challenge in a real world of fashion.
The designers for the main show were very outstanding and exceptional on the runway with Tolumi FTP from Nigeria opening the show, followed by Miraaba, Mikoko Delux, Chirani Joan from Ghana, and the rest continued in that order. Day 2 was the last day of the event and happened on 31st April.
Nuciano from Nigeria and Ghanaian designers like Afre Anko, Akinko Lifestyle, Dapper Afrique, and Signature Fashion House all showcased their collections in style. Tobams colors from UK had the opportunity to showcase as well, with a couple of others till the show was finally brought to a successful end and closed by Jay Ray Ghartey from Ghana.
