Few DJs can say that they’ve played a sunrise set on top of the Great Wall of China and worked as a dentist at a hospital in Irkutsk, Russia, for retired cosmonauts. Only Russian techno artist Nina Kraviz can claim those, of course, and so much more. She’s undeniably one of the biggest techno artists in the world and recently founded the critically acclaimed label трип, which means “trip” in English.
This past weekend, Kraviz flexed her impressive talents and impeccable sense of style at one of Coachella’s most-talked-about after-parties after her own live audiovisual show at the Mojave tent
Headlining alongside Louis Vuitton creative director Virgil Abloh, she closed out the first weekend of the festival at Rhonda Queen of the Desert, a Coachella edition of the popular Los Angeles–based pansexual dance series (it was presented by L.A.-based production company Framework).
The likes of Gigi Hadid, Diplo, and DJ-turned-designer Sita Abellan gathered for Kraviz’s set, which took place at a converted horse-racing facility in the Indio valley. Despite the desert climate, Kraviz managed to keep her cool, wearing an oxblood Helmut Lang leather jacket and a black Niketurtleneck that served as a slick contrast to Abloh’s groovy tie-dye shirt.
Naturally, Hadid and Diplo came dressed to party as well, both decked out in light-wash denim. Get a glimpse of the FOMO-inducing scene through Kraviz’s eyes in her exclusive photo diary, below.
