Ghanaian based luxury designer, Chocolate by Kwaku Bediako has unveiled a new collection titled ‘Barbees’. The inspiration for the new collection came from “doing something that’s for the black man by the black man”, the brand noted on their Instagram page a few days ago. The ready-to-wear couture is made up of classic fabrics, with lots of craftmanship, creativity and attention to details. Infact it was not just menswear as we know about the Ghanaian fashion brand, but there was a line of womenswear too, which is actually for women of all shapes and sizes and everything in between.
To reveal the campaign 2020, the team travelled to Akosombo which served as the location for the shoot; in that regard the designer, described the experience as ‘phenomenal’. The stunning images were captured through the lens of Ghanaian photographer Phloshop. The models who were fashionably styled by Ghana’s Kwesi Dapper, include Ryan El Mahmoud, Mason, Ranin, Nana Kwasi, Octovie Drevon, and Aisha Napari. Essentially, makeup was done by Mz Aquia.
Kwaku Bediako is a contemporary Ghanaian fashion designer and founder of Chocolate Clothing, he’s well respected for designing some aesthetic and afrocentric outfits for international people, such as Steve Harvey, Boris Kodjoe, Jamie foxx among others. See the style images below!
