Rhythms on da Runway has already achieved a milestone in Ghana’s fashion industry, it has actually paved way for others to follow, it’s definitely something to look out for; last year the BBC called it the biggest cultural exposè in Africa. “We know that this year’s event as small as it will be, it will be another milestone to celebrate.” CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority and Coordinator of ‘Beyond the Return’, Akwasi Agyeman confidently noted when he made it through to the official launch, which was held on the 8th of October 2020, at the luxury African Regent Hotel Accra. Creative Director of Nineteen57 clothing line, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) is at the helm of this fabulous event.
Incredibly, Rhythms On Da Runway has always had thousands of people in attendance including dignitaries and functionaries, but with the issue of COVID-19 and measures to curb it’s spread, the organisers have decided to limit the number of people in attendance to 200 as per the directive given by the government. Indeed we’re not in normal times, ‘the world is going through a turbulent time right now. Inspite of everything, the 2020 edition promises to be great, it’s still Ghana’s biggest night out.
